What makes their story special is the element of forgiveness and moving on from your past; they show this act again n again throughout the series. Shouko was bullied during grade school by Shoya and had to move to a different school, and Shoya was solely blamed for this, which made him an outcast in the school.

4. Hachiman Hikigaya and Yukino Yukinoshita from Oregairu

Credit: Brain’s Base

Believing that you are alone putting a distance between you and the people who care about you is unhealthy. In Hikigaya’s mind, this makes sense because he truly believes that everyone wants what’s good for themselves.

Hachiman, the protagonist of the series, is the prime example of this; he’s a loner with a stoic personality who doesn’t believe in making or relying on others. On the other hand, Yukino Yukinoshita also has a similar outlook on life; they both believe the same thing; however, their lifestyle is completely different.

Hachiman doesn’t care about what others think and doesn’t bother to make an effort to better himself in the eyes of others; while Yukinoshita also doesn’t care about others, she makes efforts to better herself so she wouldn’t have to ask for anyone’s help.

And While Mashiro was introduced with a stoic nature and monotone expressions, her feelings for Sorata grew exponentially to a point where she didn’t know what to do.

Credit: CloverWorks

If we’re talking about high school anime couples, the relationship between Miyamura and Kyouko is the most cherished one; their relationship is sweet, both of them understand each other and accept them for who they are.

Miyamura is a loner at their high school; he sits by himself and doesn’t bother to engage with his classmates; most of his classmates consider him a weirdo and an otaku, but he leads a different life outside of school, and just like him, Hori is a model student who everyone around her admires, but she also lives a different life outside of school.

It was interesting to see these two characters develop feelings for one another; even though they were both strong individual characters who had a similar approach to life, they couldn’t be more different in terms of personality.
