Tokyo Ghoul is an anime that was adapted from the manga series of the same name. The TV show ran for twenty-four episodes and never had any fillers in its run. If you enjoy horror without excessive violence, then this might be worth checking out!
Ken Kaneki is a college student who barely survives an encounter with Rize Kamishiro. She reveals herself as a ghoul, and he ends up at the hospital in critical condition after having been sewn back together by doctors.
After he recovers from his wounds, though, it turns out that some of her organs were transplanted into him. Similar to other ghouls, Ken has to consume human flesh if he wants to survive.
