Boy, does it feel nice to take a trip back to the Nejima Universe. The addition of the “harem” genre makes it even more exciting. Combining these genres gives you the ultimate entertainment, which true anime fans can only appreciate. However, they are many aspects in the show that do not make much sense, and it was quite enjoyable.
UQ Holder! managed to climb the popularity charts quickly, mainly because of the unnecessary fan service and the overuse of anime cliche where the MC is a hot-blooded guy who is dense as hell, and for some reason, he keeps getting stronger at an alarming rate, not that there’s anything wrong with that. However, the show skips over many important details from the manga, which ruins the show.
So, let’s not waste any more time and find out what’s been happening in the world of UQ Holder! Season 2 In regards to their studio, the community, and of course, the manga.
What happened so far in UQ Holder!

The story follows a young boy named Touta Konoe, who is from a small rural town. His ordinary life changes when his master reveals himself as a vampire. When Touta suffers a mortal wound, his master grants him the ability to be immortal to save his life.
Touta follows his heart and his one true goal is to reach the tower of Amanomihashira, which can ascend him to space; on his journey, he meets many immortal beings just like him, known as UQ Holders. Some of them are good, and most of them are bad.
What Is Going On With J.C.Staff?

UQ Holder! aired from Oct 3, 2017, to Dec 19, 2017, and I remember seeing it all over social media. UQ Holder! shook the anime community with its flawless animation, memorable characters, and of course, a lot of fan service. Sentai Filmworks immediately licensed the show for the dub simulcast, so we know that the show had potential; still, a sequel to the series seems unlikely, and I will tell you why.
The show is produced by studio J.C.Staff who is known for their fantastic animation; the series is directed by Youhei Suzuki, who has also referred many amazing series such as Shimoneta, Toradora which is a beloved romance anime series and a fan-favorite of hundreds of people, and lastly the OVA of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick-Up Girls in a Dungeon which is a fan favorite action/fantasy anime.
Studio J.C.Staff is known for creating some of the most amazing and popular comedic series of all time, including One Punch Man, the pet girl of Sakurasou, and the god of comedy Konosuba. As of right now, there are currently three anime in production which makes it unlikely that we’ll receive a sequel soon.
What do we know about UQ Holder! Season 2 so far?

The probability if a show will receive a sequel depends on the number of sales and the net profit since its official launch. The manga of the show was an absolute hit, UQ Holder! It became the 7th best-selling manga in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, with record-breaking sales of 1.5 million, which is why the show was initially turned into an anime.
Unfortunately, the production quality also matters in anime, and that is where the drop of UQ Holder! began, the series was rushed and compacted into 12 episodes, making it skip over many progressive plot points, there was hardly any character development, and many details were left unexplored.
Initially, the series made a big splash on the social platforms, making its way to Netflix, but after a few episodes, there was a significant drop in quality, and fans stopped watching the show; we believe there are weren’t many hard copies of the anime sold which is why the figure is kept hidden and since there is no way to estimate data from streaming services, we can say nothing.
What are fans saying about UQ Holder! Season 2?

Some of you might not know this, but UQ Holder! is a somewhat prequel in the Nejima Universe. Many characters from the original series now play a supportive role, though it may not be clear because the show doesn’t properly introduce those characters, which was the main concern of the people who hated the show.
The series was rushed and skipped over many important details and plot points to make the story impeccable, and many fans complained that the anime ruined the name of the manga.
The series did become a big topic of discussion for anime fans but was soon disregarded as just another fantasy harem anime with little to no value. Of course, there are still discussions going on about UQ Holder! But it’s more about the manga and not the anime.
You can read hundreds of hate reviews on MyAnimeList, talking about how the show was rushed, didn’t introduce previous characters, and huge time skips.
Will there be UQ Holder! Season 2?

Let’s talk about the manga for a second, the UQ Holder! manga was written and illustrated by Ken Akamatsu, and it is one of the best-selling manga of all time. The latest update of the manga is volume 26, including chapters 181 and 182, and it is said that the manga series will end in February 2022.
Now onto the main topic, we know that the UQ Holder! anime did end around chapter 131, but they skipped many branches, so If you are planning to read the manga, I suggest that you start from the beginning; otherwise, it won’t make any sense.
Episode 1-5 starts from chapter 1 and finishes at chapter 30, and chapter 6 begins from chapter 100. It’s like they did a time warp, lots of potential plot and character development was missed, so it’s not worth continuing with a sequel; they should do a remake.
Have a look at these Google statistics; the show’s popularity rose when the anime initially aired around 2015-16, with Asian countries being the most invested, such as Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines.
When will UQ Holder! Season 2 be released?

As of right now, there isn’t any news regarding the 2nd season of UQ Holder!, nothing even suggests that we will ever get a sequel to UQ Holder! Studio J.C.Staff just released their latest shows, A Realist Hero and The Duke of Death, and right now, there are currently three different anime announced, so there is a possibility that we won’t get to see a sequel until mid-2022.
What can we expect in Season 2 of UQ Holder!?

Touta continues to chase after his dream, and we see at the finale that he ends up using all his other lives to help the UQ Holder squad to stop a terrorist attack and temporarily loses his immortality. Still, he gains a few extra lives because of the people he saved during the bombing, and we can assume that he will continue his country to reach space, and the rest of the story will continue from there.
